CONCEPT

Dieter Rams — the iconic designer with a distinct approach to designing functional and beautiful objects. This publication highlights Rams’ path as a designer and the beauty of his work by incorporating his classic "less is better" design principle in each spread.

This publication maintains a dynamic page structure that accommodates and complements the concept of systematic, simplistic design.

The grid

4 columns, 6 rows, 6 pt baseline grid. From the body text to the headers, to the running headers, everything fits into the grid.

Each element serves a function. Running headers inform the viewer where they are in the book, images display Rams's designs, captions describe the images, and the small black square indicates the beginning and end of the book (and the square is from the colon in the book title).
